Sad news as reports confirm that Nigerian singer David Adedeji has lost his only son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, to a drowning incident on Monday, October 31st, 2022 at his Banana Island home.
According to the Nigerian blog, Yabaleftonline, Davido and Chioma travelled for a family gathering to Ibadan. The couple had left their son with his carers, who are yet to give an account of how the boy entered the pool without being noticed, leading to his drowning.
Unfortunately, Ifeanyi was pronounced dead on arrival after rushing him to Evercare Hospital in Lekki.
An eyewitness disclosed that a distraught Davido had to be removed from Evercare Hospital and taken to his father’s house.
DailyPost reports that according to the Lagos State Police Command, all members of the singer’s domestic staff are currently detained to aid with the preliminary investigation of the boy’s death.
“Domestic staff at Davido’a home have been taken to the station to give their own account of what happened. I wouldn’t call that arrest yet.
“If after they all give their own account of what happened and after preliminary investigations, if anyone of them is found culpable, the person will now be placed under arrest.”
Davido and his fiance Chioma Rowland are yet to release a public statement over the death of their first son Ifeanyi.
