Ghanaian gospel music star, Celestine Donkor has revealed in a new book how she ended up with a husband who did not tick her original criteria of an ideal man.

In her book, ‘Beyond the Rhythm’ which she co-authored with her husband Kofi Donkor, Celestine disclosed that before she got married, she had always been smitten with the idea of having a husband with hair on his chest.

Unfortunately, her husband who doubles as her manager did not have that physical feature and thus did not meet her checklist

“I told him I wanted someone I could confidently go to places with. Someone with a hairy chest. Laughs! I wanted my ideal man,” she said

She also indicated that her checklist provoked him to start using hair growth cream on his chest to no avail.

“But guess what? My man has zero hair so he resorted to buying a hair growth cream and began applying it religiously to grow his chest,” she recalled

According to the award-winning artiste, she soon discovered that there were more important attributes in her husband than just a hairy chest.

She landed a man who was not only interested in her as a woman but also in her spiritual welfare and growth, and that was the biggest attraction for her.

“I laugh when I think about it even till today. All the same, more importantly, I was on fire for God and I had matured so much in Him that meeting someone like my husband who was that interested in my spiritual welfare and growth meant everything to me. That was the biggest attraction for me,” she added.

In the book, Celestine Donkor also notes that she and her husband agreed on marriage before they even met for the first time while he was still living in South Korea.

‘Beyond the Rhythm’ centres on their lives, their journey as a couple and their venturing into the music industry.

Kofi Donkor and Celestine Donkor have been married for the past 17 years and the union has 3 beautiful offspring.
