Miriam Xorlasi Tordzeagbo, the winner of Miss Ghana 2022 has highlighted some challenges she’s been confronted with since winning the beauty pageant in 2022.

Speaking in an interview on The Afternoon Show on Thursday, Miriam noted that it is a hefty task to solicit for support from organisations to embark on projects as a Queen of a pageant.

She added that in some cases personnel in various organisations end up discouraging the winners of the pageant through comments like “why are you doing pageant? Go to school.”

“Seeking for support as a beauty Queen in Ghana is so difficult. You go to the people and they say why are you doing beauty pageant. You should be doing something different. They brush you off actually and reject you in the face. Sometimes it can kill your spirit,” she noted.

Miriam, however said despite all these destructions, her passion to improve and support society through her recognition as Miss Ghana 2022 keeps her going.

Responding to whether she receives sexual advances from men in these organizations, she admitted receiving such advances but acknowledged that it is a common practice in every human institution.

“I think it is very natural. In every business sector women face advances from men and its normal. You should let your no be no and if you are interested you should go for it and learn to say no if not interested,” she added.

Miriam Xorlali is set to represent Ghana at the Miss World Competition which will commence from February 18 to March 9.

120 beauty Queens will represent various countries at the Miss World Competition which will last for three weeks.

Miriam is already elated and prepared to wave high the flag of her nation.
