Ghanaian media personality and recent Guinness World Record’s longest singing marathon applicant, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum has spoken with regards to her unsuccessful sing-a-thon attempt.

The Guinness World Record’s (GWR) official X account tweeted on Friday, February 23 to confirm that her attempt was unsuccessful. GWR attributed her failure to rest break timings not being met.

GWR also indicated that they had refunded $750 she paid for priority service for review of her attempt.

After the GWR announced her disqualification, Afua Asantewaa was chastised on social media for withholding the results which apparently got to her earlier this month.

According to Afua, she did not intentionally hold on to the results from GWR rather, she could not access her account.

“There is no way I will hold on to a result such as this, I’m a very strong personality and I believe in not giving up and regardless of the outcome be it successful or not successful I would have still shared with Ghanaians anyways. I spoke about a miscommunication with GWR, it had to do with my login account, I don’t have access,” she said in an interview with GhOne TV.
