Cameroonian singer Libianca has emerged as the winner of the Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act category at the 2023 BET Awards.
Libianca beat out tough competition from the likes of Ghanaian musician Raphael Camidoh Kofi Attachie, Asake (Nigeria), Flo (UK), Maureen (France), MC Ryan SP (Brazil), Pabi Cooper (South Africa), Raye (UK), and Werenoi (France) who were among the talented artists vying for the coveted award.
Prior to the main event, Camidoh delivered an electrifying performance that left attendees in awe at the Pre-Awards Welcome party held at the prestigious Grammy Museum.
Camidoh, who was among the nominees for Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act, was hopeful of snagging the coveted award.

In an interview on TV3’s New Day, he expressed his belief in his chances of securing the win.
“Being nominated there means you stand an equal chance. Like everyone in that category stands an equal chance because obviously if there were certain criteria to be ticked for you to be nominated, that means everyone’s box was ticked and that’s why they were nominated,” he said.
Despite not winning the coveted award, Camidoh had fun at the event as he connected with several Big names in Hollywood.
According to his manager, George Britton in a previous interview, a nomination of this stature was very important as it not only celebrates his achievements as an artist but also shines a spotlight on the rich musical landscape of Ghana.
