Artiste manager and entertainment pundit, Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bullgod, has expressed his discontent over the strong relationship Ghanaian music duo, R2Bees, and songstress Efya have with Nigerian music star, Wizkid, and their apparent absence from his international tours.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, July 29, Bullgod raised questions about why R2Bees and Efya frequently socialize with Wizkid when he visits Ghana, yet fail to join him on international stages to showcase their talents to the world.
He expressed disappointment that Ghanaian musicians are missing out on significant opportunities to promote their craft on large international platforms.
“So R2Bees and Efya will smoke, drink and chill with Wizkid anytime he’s in Ghana but can’t join him on international stages and showcase their talents to the world?” he quizzed
Bullgod’s frustration stems from the fact that while Nigerian music and artists continue to elevate their relevance on the global stage, Ghanaian musicians seem to be lagging behind.
Wizkid’s recent accomplishment of selling out the impressive 62,850-capacity Tottenham Stadium during his “More Love, Less Ego” concert further emphasizes the international acclaim Nigerian artists are gaining.
In his Facebook post, Bullgod questioned why R2Bees and Efya, who have a close connection with Wizkid, aren’t leveraging such relationships to boost their international careers. He called for Ghanaian musicians to seize opportunities to perform on global platforms and make their mark on the international music scene.
Meanwhile, Wizkid’s performance at the Tottenham Stadium has garnered significant attention, with reports praising the afrobeat star’s electrifying musical experience. The event also featured Ghana’s own King Promise, whose performance impressed the crowd.
Other Nigerian artists, including Wande Coal, delivered mind-blowing performances during the concert, further solidifying the influence of Nigerian music on the global stage.
