Neo Ghanaian songstress and writer Efya has finally addressed the recent social media post by artiste manager and entertainment pundit, Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bullgod.

In an interview on the upcoming episode of Atuu with Abeiku Santana, Efya revealed that she felt embarrassed by Bullgod’s remarks that implied she was more interested in partying with Nigeria’s Wizkid than showcasing her talent on international stages.

The controversy stirred last month when Bullgod expressed his disappointment in Ghanaian musicians, particularly pointing out R2Bees and Efya.

He questioned why artists like R2Bees and Efya, who have been seen socializing with Wizkid when he’s in Ghana, don’t join him on international stages to showcase their talents.

However, in the promotional video for the upcoming episode of “Atuu,” Efya shared her perspective on the matter.

She emphasized her positive relationship with Bullgod and noted that he could have directly reached out to her to express his views.  Instead, he chose to air his thoughts on social media, leading to a sense of embarrassment for her.

“I know Bulldog, he could have chosen to call me but he decided to sit on social media and say that to embarrass me. How does that help me as an artiste mentally,” she stated.

This is the second time the  “Little Things” singer has shared her thoughts about the allegations raised by BullGod in a public forum.

In a Twitter thread in July 2023, the ‘Best In Me’ singer, revealed that her inability to perform with Wizkid on International platforms was due to scheduling conflicts, prior commitments, and logistical constraints.

“When it comes to performing on big stages, there are various factors involved that people may not be aware of. Scheduling conflicts, prior commitments, and logistical constraints sometimes make it challenging to accompany Wizkid on every single performance. It doesn’t diminish my dedication or the fact that I have also played on countless international stages,” she tweeted.

She further explained, “As an artist, I have a multifaceted career that encompasses my own music, projects, and obligations. While I value my friendship and artistic connection with Wizkid, I also have my own aspirations and commitments in the music industry. It is essential to strike a balance and prioritize professional growth and individual endeavours.”

Efya also expressed her disheartenment at being ridiculed based on misunderstandings and assumptions by industry stakeholders and pundits

“It is disheartening to be ridiculed based on misunderstandings and assumptions. I hope this thread provides clarity and sheds light on the intricacies of the music industry. Let us focus on celebrating each other’s achievements rather than perpetuating unnecessary controversies,” the neo-singer added.

Her latest response has reignited conversations about her perceived limited exploration of her music potential.
