Takoradi-based Connect FM’s Ato Kwamina Otoo D’Gem has been strongly tipped to win Entertainment Program Host of the Year for the Western & Western North Region at the 2021/2022 edition of the Foklex Media Awards.
The astute entertainment journalist, born Charles Tony Otoo, joined Media General in 2018 as Producer for the mid-morning show, Adwumapa mere, and the weekly Connect Entertainment Review, which he now hosts.
In 2019, he took over as host and has not looked back.
He bagged consecutive nominations as Entertainment Show of the Year at the 2019 and 2020 editions of the Western Music Awards.
In 2021, he won Entertainment Show Host of the Year at the Western Radio and Television Personalities Awards (WRTP).
D’Gem, as he’s affectionately called, is loved for his command over the English and Fante languages.
He exerts an enviable depth of knowledge which reflects in his questioning and control of his panel, an attribute that has made Entertainment Show lovers and netizens alike root for him to win at the Foklex Media Awards slated for Saturday, April 30.
