Reigning Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year in the Upper East Music Awards, AlaptaWan, is out with compelling visuals for her single “Africa is Bleeding”, a song that decries the ills of the continent and advocates unity.

The young female artiste is particularly concerned about the need for Africa to undo some of the things that impede development and unity.

Terrorism, corruption, political instability, insecurity, bad governance are some of the things the young talent uses this piece to address.

In the wake of political instability in some African countries, the latest being a military takeover in the neighbouring Burkina Faso, the call for a cease fire and unity through music is a thoughtful move. There are also internal conflicts in various Africa countries the need to be ended for peace to prevail.

The music video seems to tell a story of an Africa in shackles; the shackles of conflict, corruption and bad leadership – It shows an Africa yearning and fighting for liberation.

The Savanna Records signee in this piece seeks to detail how Africa is suffering under the reckless mismanagement of people in power.

She also acknowledges some African forebears who stood and fought for the liberation and unity of the continent.

“Africa Is Bleeding”, produced by Kobbybeat is not only a genius piece but one which also awakens Africa to the reality of the disastrous path it on.
