Ghanaian actor, Adjetey Anang will co-host the nominee’s announcement for the 9th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award.
The event which will take place on April 16,will also see actress Bisola Aiyeola join Adjetey on Nigerian soil to announce the nominees for the night.
Both actors are well-known for their roles in several award-winning movies on the continent.
This year’s Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards promises to be a celebration of the best and brightest talent in African television and film.
The announcement of the nominees for the 9th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards is highly anticipated, with a 40% increase in entries received this year.
The AMVCA panel of judges, headed by veteran filmmaker Femi Odugbemi, will review hundreds of hours of entries to arrive at the final list of nominees across the 33 categories.
Of the 33 categories, 10 will be open to public voting, 2 categories will be decided by live voting at the event, and 22 categories will be decided by the AMVCA panel of judges. The voting process is being overseen by Deloitte to ensure that it is fair and transparent.
Dr Busola Tejumola, Executive Head of Content and West African Channels at MultiChoice Nigeria, expressed her excitement about the upcoming awards, stating that “Each of the nominees for this year’s awards are reflective of the abundant talent our continent boasts and we can’t wait to celebrate them.”
The 9th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards is a three-day event, with the award show scheduled for 20th May 2023.
The event is brought to viewers by Africa Magic in partnership with Amstel Malta and Zagg Energy Drink.
