Members of the Minority are expected to meet their lawyers on Wednesday over the publication. The Daily Guide newspaper in its Tuesday, April 10, 2018 edition said it has information which indicates that “some 22 ministers under the erstwhile Mahama administration were taking double salaries. “The information indicates that the ministers, who were Members of Parliament (MPs), were drawing salaries as MPs and at the same time receiving their monthly salaries as ministers, contrary to the law”. The Minority had already discredited the publication at a press conference on Tuesday where it also spoke against invitation by the Criminal Investigations Department. “Government must really be in an indecent hurry to divert attention from its failings by this pathetic attempt to cow us into submission,” former deputy Finance Minister, Casiel Ato Forson told journalists on Tuesday. Speaking further on the issue on Onua FM’s Yen Nsempa on Wednesday hosted by Bright Kwasi Asempa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency in the Volta Region, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, said “fortunately we are meeting our lawyers today because I know some of my colleagues are very angry over the issue”. He however said, “left to me we should leave them. Due to my personal experience as the former Deputy Information Minister, I don’t rush to sue the media; I prefer using the National Media Commission rather”. By Kweku Antwi-Otoo|3news.com|Ghana]]>
