Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has launched the 25th anniversary celebration of TV3 and also unveiled the anniversary logo, on Tuesday April 12.
The event was attended by several dignitaries including the Chief Executive Officer of Media General, Beatrice Agyemang, General Manager Television, Mr Francis Doku, the Chief Operations Officer Winfred Kingsley Afful, International Evangelist, a teacher of the Gospel and author Dr Lawrence Tetteh, reps from Nestlé and several others.

TV3, a member of the Media General Group, is marking 25 years since its establishment. Series of activities have been outlined by management as part of the year-long celebration.
In a short address during the launch of the anniversary, Mr Oppong Nkrumah who is also lawmaker for Ofoase Ayirebi said “Building a business of this nature for twenty five years, I think you deserve a round of applause.”
He further recognized the impact of TV3 on the media industry in Ghana saying, “Even in terms of the talents that today we find in the industry and how many of them have passed through your stables. In the entertainment field, I was just asking Francis Doku about one of your entertainment shows I watch and I was asking whether that was production or was real. But it shows how eclectic your production is even in the entertainment field, we congratulate you for that.

“The third thing I will want to mention on a day like this is, I know it is a day of celebration but it is also a day of caution, the next twenty five years are more important than the past twenty five years and over the next twenty five years, one of the things you should pay attention are your risks.
“What are your risks you face as a business? In our industry one of the risks that I think you should pay attention to is reputation risks. Reputation risk is the end product of what your staff as individuals or groups of staff or the corporate programming we churn out.
“As we excite ourselves today and celebrate, I want to draw your attention to the fact that the next twenty five years ahead of you, look our for the risks that you face and how to mitigate against these risks so that twenty five years down the line we can join you for more celebrations, congratulations.”
For her part, the Group CEO Beatrice Agyemang said “I joined TV3 in 1997 and here am I today as the CEO, so thank you to TV3.
“We at Media General and TV3 are excited at how far we have come. Celebrating twenty five years in broadcast excellence as the hall mark of TV3 is no mean an achievement. We have raised the odds and challenges and immerged stronger, more experienced and creative. Indeed, we have grown to become the best in the industry.”
