President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has met US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on the sidelines of the ongoing US-Africa Leaders’ Summit in Washington DC.

The two met on Wednesday, December 14 to, among other things, discuss bilateral relations between their respective countries.

Secretary Blinken was happy with the meeting, describing it as “good”.

“I appreciate our strong US-Ghana relationship, including our work to bolster democracy, regional security, economic investment, and prosperity in West Africa, and our partnership on the UN Security Council,” he later tweeted.

President Akufo-Addo is in the US as part of African leaders invited by President Joe Biden for the Summit, which demonstrates the United States’ enduring commitment to Africa, and underscores the importance of the US relations with Africa.

Already, Ghana’s leader has held meetings with other government officials of the US.
