A member of the governing party’s communications team, Mr. Robert Owusu had boasted during a radio programme in Kumasi that the police even support the party’s diabolic idea of stockpiling machetes to attack their opponents in the general polls in November.
Although the regional police command has disassociated itself from the “irresponsible” comments, the opposition NPP is not treating the threat lightly.
Fomena Constituency Chairman, Mr. Akwasi Nti Asamoah told Onua News that the party would revenge any attack on their members or supporters.
Whilst the NDC intend using machetes, he said the NPP would resort to the use of guns should any confrontation ensued.
Mr. Asamoah revealed his intention on Monday at the party’s office during his re-instatement as Chairman of the NPP for Fomena Constituency after serving a suspension.
“The lion king is back again in the system,” he declared as he made his intention clear to the governing NDC.
