Weave Through Foundation donates to the Haemodialysis unit of KBTH

Supported by the former 2nd Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Her Excellency Mrs Matilda Amissah-Arthur, the Global Lead and supporting Pastors of Empowerment Worship Centre, Staff of ARB Apex Bank, Grynie company, some Old Students of Mfantsipim and Fijai Senior High Schools, the Family and friends of the late Mr. Richard Mettle Addo; former Director at ARB Apex Bank who passed on 5 years ago made a massive donation to the Haemodialysis Unit of the Cardio Department at the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital last Friday; March 17 2023.

Speaking at the event, Mrs. Amissah-Arthur commended the Head of Department and his team for the selfless and professional manner in which  they discharged their duties and encouraged them to use the donated items to facilitate their work in caring for the patients.

The Weave Through Foundation is to honour the memory of Mr. Richard Mettle Addo who suffered from a kidney disease. He was called to glory 5 years ago.

The family and friends of Mr. Addo are hopeful that their efforts will go a long way to make some meaningful impact and transform lives for in the Renal Unit.

The event was held on Friday, March 17 at the Renal Unit of the Korle-bu Cardio Department. A donation of critical items needed by the unit was made and received well by the Head of Department and Staff of the unit. The event was supported by donations from the former 2nd Lady, family, friends, loved ones and some Corporate entities including Empowerment Worship Centre, Monte Mineral water, Grynie Ventures, and 3RIGHTS Consult.

Items presented were blood pressure monitors, thermometers, hot water bottles, chairs, a TV, cartons of drinks, cartons of water and rolls of tissue.

The Head of Cardio Department at KBTH Professor Mark Tettey expressed his profound appreciation on behalf of his department and thanked the Foundation for recognising and appreciating their work. He pledged their continued hardwork in delivering the best of service to all patients.

Finally, Madam Nina D. Addo, wife of the late R.M.Addo and founder and President of the foundation urged staff of the Renal Unit to treat all patients fairly and avoid any forms of discrimination in spite of their backgrounds or financial strengths.

The Weave Through Foundation has been formed to complement the efforts of medical professionals to create awareness, prevent, manage, treat and support patients battling Kidney disease in Ghana.

This initiative has been instituted to honour the memory of Mr. Richard Mettle Addo of blessed memory who was called to glory 5years ago from the same condition.
