President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated that he is confident his administration will achieve its target of creating a progressive and prosperous nation before its tenure expires on 6 January 2025.

Speaking at the annual Eucharist service held at Jubilee House and officiated by the Anglican Church of Ghana,  Tuesday, 9 January 2024, President Akufo-Addo said he is counting on the support of the Ghanaian people during the year ahead of him before he retires from office as President, to consolidate all the policies he has implemented since assuming office on 7 January 2017.

“The past year has been filled with challenges, triumphs, and moments that have tested our country’s resolve. Through it all, God’s hand has guided us, and we stand now united and stronger than ever. In times of turmoil and uncertainty, our religion supports us. Our faith in a higher power gives us courage and perseverance to face the unknown.

“As we begin this new year, I am reminded of the words in the holy scripture in Psalms 46:1 which read: God is our refuge and strength and ever-present help in times of trouble. Indeed, Ghana has come thus far by His Grace, and I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for our country,” President Akufo-Addo said.

“At the end of my term in office as it nears with one year to go, I am filled with optimism and determination with the support of the Ghanaian people and the guidance of the almighty God, I am confident that we will achieve our goal of creating a progress and prosperous Ghana for all. It is a mission that requires not only political understanding, but also heavenly inspiration and grace” Akufo-Addo added.

“Your Excellency, as you enter the final year of your term as President, the Lord’s promises to you and the people of Ghana will come to pass, it will be fulfilled. As you begin 2024 and we perform this thanksgiving ceremony, may we be faithful to God, may we be faithful to ourselves, and may we be faithful to Ghana” Most Rev Dr Cyril Kobina Ben-Smith said.
