We want action on roads – drivers in Weija-Gbawe Constituency cry out to duty bearers

Drivers at Choice, Barrier, Koko junction, Taller junction and around the mountains in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency in the Greater Accra Region say they have had enough of the empty promises in respect of repair works on the roads in the area.

According to them, they need action.

When Onua TV News’ Akua Sarpomaa visited the Constituency, one of the drivers interviewed said, “from the year 2000 when Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey was the MP for the area, she promised the constituents good roads, but she refused to fulfill her promise. Since then, the MPs in the area also have promised to fix the roads, but none have fulfilled his promise.”

He further stated that “before the 2020 election, the NDC Parliamentary candidate Hon. Obuobea Darko brought grader to grade the roads, but Hon. Tina Naa Ayele Mensah the MP didn’t allow her and told the residents she’ll fix the roads herself, but up till now we are still suffering using the roads in the constituency.”

The Assembly Woman for the New Weija East Electoral Area, Halimatu Sadia Issah has urged them to calm down because “I have started lobbying and hope that they will see different before or after the general elections.”
