W/R: Robbery attack at Assakae leaves TV3's driver injured

A robbery attack on a household at Assakae within the Effia–Kwesimintsim municipality has left a driver of TV3, who is also attached to its sister station Connect FM in Takoradi, injured. One of the robbers in a struggle with the occupants stabbed Anthony Asatsi with a screw driver in his palm, lower and upper arm, and the rib area. This happened at about 2:30 am on Tuesday, May 7, involving three robbers. When the confrontation attracted the attention of other residents, the robbers sensed danger and attempted to escape but one was unlucky. Papa Takyi believed to be a teenager was apprehended and is currently in police custody at Kwesimintsim assisting in investigation. The robbers made away with “one mobile phone and a cash amount of three hundred and fifty Ghana cedis (GhȻ 350) and other personal belongings”, Anthony noted. The victim, Anthony Asatsi is receiving treatment at the Kwesimintsim District Hospital. This is just one of the many robbery incidents that residents of Assakae have been subjected to, 3news.com has gathered.
