W/R: One police officer killed in robbery attack

Deceased Lance Corporal Nicholas Duku.[/caption] At least 30 people made up of 28 workers of Plat and Plume Gold Refinery at Bogoso in the Western Region are currently assisting the Tarkwa District Police with investigations into a deadly armed robbery attack at Bogoso last Sunday. The attacke led to the death of a police officer, Lance Corporal Nicholas Duku. Western Regional Police PRO, DSP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku, giving the details of the case to 3news.com, said the deceased was on escort duties with the Managing Director, Rujanda Sind, who was sending some money from their Tarkwa office to their Bogoso office. “At the office, after waiting for sometime, the MD was not coming so he (Lance Corporal Duku) decided to go and investigate. “He realized there was an armed robbery attack ongoing and so he took cover to help the company’s security personnel but he was shot at and followed again and killed. “It seems there was communication ongoing between the armed robbers and some one from outside the building because he was attacked on his blind side,” DSP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku narrated. The robbers made away with GH¢ 900,000  and  abandoned their vehicle, a Nissan Rogue with registration number GE 411-16.  The vehicle was later found at Prestea Huni Valley District. Information yet to be confirmed by police indicates the deceased mentioned the name of one of the four masked men and asked why he wanted to kill him when he knows him.
