Voices of 3 suspected robbers give them out; arrested by residents

Three suspected armed robbers have been arrested by the youth of Gbintiri in the East Mamprusi municipality of the Northern Region and handed over to the Police. Karim Dansil, 22; Kofi Banaba, 21 and Amidu Dikrorugu, 26 years allegedly attacked one Limuna Agoligo at gunpoint on April 7,2018 at about 9:30pm and took from him GHC2,000. The suspects were said to have taken the victim’s motorbike but was immediately returned to him and ordered to leave the robbery scene. According to the victim, though all the three suspects were in face mask, he managed to identify them by their voices which he said were familiar to him before the robbery. The victim later reported the attack to the Gbintiri Chief’s Palace and the youth of the town were commissioned to arrest the three suspects. They were later handed over to the Police in the area. A search in their rooms on April 10 by the Police revealed one cap gun, two cutlasses, one sharp double-edge knife, a metal bar, GHC2,568 and four mobile phones. “[The] suspects are in custody for further interrogation and investigation”, Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer ASP Yussif Tanko told TV3.
