Boxer Isaac Quaye nicknamed Mayweather is reported to have been knocked down by a police patrol vehicle about 1:00pm on Wednesday, May 3 around the Korle Lagoon area. An eyewitness who gave his name Ayittey narrated the incident to www.3news.com. So I rushed out only to see him lying motionless. “I quickly tried to flank down a taxi but nobody was willing to take him to the hospital, so we carried him to the side of the road before getting a taxi.” Ayittey added that the residents who witnessed the scenario confirmed to him that the boxer was knocked down by a police patrol vehicle with registration number GP 3690 in an apparent hit-and-run. Manager of the injured boxer Abubakari confirmed to www.3news.com that he had reported the case at the Korle Bu Police Station. “I have gone personally to the Korle Bu Police Station to report the case to them and they dispatched a police officer to accompany us to the Accident and Emergency Centre where Isaac is being kept. “The policeman took all the necessary details of my boxer and gave us a medical form to fill so as at now I am still here waiting to see the commander,” he said.   By Nana Afrane Asante|3news.com|Ghana ]]>
