Some political parties in the country took advantage of the New Patriotic Party’s national delegates conference to appeal to President Akufo-Addo to work hard at making Ghana a better place. Delivering solidarity messages at the NPP’s Conference in Koforidua, Chairman of the People’s National Convention, Bernard Mornah appealed to the president to arrest the cedi depreciating against the dollar and also deal with issues confronting the health sector. The PNC Chairman also wished the NPP well as they vote to elect new executives for the party. “We wish the NPP to become stronger after this conference,” Bernard Mornah said. On their part, the Progressive People’s Party also urged the president to ensure that the Free SHS policy is made compulsory. “Free SHS is doing well and we are happy; we, however, wish that the compulsory aspect of the FCUBE will be implemented.” The Convention People’s Party tasked President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to rebuild state-owned institutions as was done by the CPP in the past. Representatives of the opposition NDC were missing in action to solidarise with the NPP. Their absence is believed to have been as a result of the demise of former Vice President, Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur. The NPP’s delegates conference is being held at the Koforidua Technical University where some 6,000 delegates are gathered to elect new executives.
