Two charged over deadly Kpalbusi-Mujipe clashes

A Tamale magistrate court presided over by Amadu Issifu on Wednesday, January 8 remanded Dramani Zakaria and Abdul Rahaman into prison custody. The two were charged with murder, the Salaga District Police Commander, DSP David Kofi Kumah, revealed. Suspects Abdul Rahaman Yussif and Dramani Zakaria were picked up from different locations on Sunday evening and Monday morning respectively, DSP David Kofi-Kumah said. While Dramani Zakaria was arrested at Kpembe, Abdul Rahaman Yussif was picked from his hideout. Two persons died in a clash between natives of Kpalbusi and Mujipe in the North East Gonja District of the Savannah Region on New Year’s Day when some elders had arrived in Mujipe to demand royalties after the farming season.
