An exercise conducted under her ministry, the rebranding of the buses cost GH¢3.6 million, an amount that has raised eyeballs among many Ghanaians.
A statement dated December 22 and issued by Egypt Kobla Kudoto, the Personal Assitant to Mrs Attivor, said she has already communicated her decision to President John Mahama and his Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah.
The Transport Minister expressed gratitude to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) “for the opportunity offered her to serve, first as Deputy Minister of Transport under the late President JEA Mils, and later as the substantive Minister”.
The uproar over the amount involved in rebranding the bus rapid transit (BRT) buses resulted in Mr Debrah ordering the Minister of Justice, Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong, to review the deal.
Mrs Appiah-Oppong submitted her review to the Chief of Staff on Tuesday.
Already, Mrs Attivor and the Justice Minister are facing a suit at the Accra High Court over the deal as some private citizens want copies of the contract made available to them for scrutiny.
