TOR appoints Asante Berko as new MD

A 46-year-old corporate finance and investment expert, Asante K. Berko, has been appointed as the Managing Director of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR). He will also chair the executive management team of the refinery. Mr Berko whose appointment was announced on Wednesday, January 22 by the TOR board of directors, succeeds Isaac Osei who served as the MD from 2017 to 2019. He served as Executive Director of Goldman Sachs International in London, until his appointment. The new MD has a wealth of experience spanning a period of 22 years in corporate finance and investment. He is expected to use such rich background to position TOR on a sound footing and spur the refinery on to greater heights. Mr. Berko’s professional life has seen him occupy various executive positions, and perform vital structuring and restructuring roles in globally recognized organizations such as Barclays Capital/ Absa Capital, Credit-Suisse, Ernst & Young, LLP.
