Tomato ‘industry’ in Ghana has collapsed – Peasant Farmers

The Programmes Officer at the Peasant Farmers Association) Charles Nyaaba has aid the tomatoes sector of the Ghanaian economy ha collapsed.

He attributed this to the failure of authorities to pay attention to the sector by providing the needed investment.

Speaking on the Sunrise show with Alfred Ocansey on 3FM Wednesday July 20, he explained stated “Our tomato industry in Ghana has collapsed because they don’t pay attention to our local production, they then go to Burkina Faso.”

Most of Ghana’s staple foods are imported inti the country, Mr Nyaaba noted and further feared that the situation is likely to shoot up.
