A Parliamentary Candidate aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ledzokuku, Dr Bernard Okoe-Boye has said he will win the internal parliamentary primary of the party.
He says he is the best person to represent the NPP in the 2024 general elections to win the seat.
“The NDC has been telling people that I am their biggest headache, the good news I have for them is that the headache will get worse,” he told journalists in his constituency during the NPP’s parliamentary primary for the orphan constituency on Saturday, December 2.
Earlier, the Executive Director and Head of Polls at Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah Musah Dankwa, predicted a victory for him.
Dr Okoe-Boye, a former Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku, who lost in the 2020 general elections, is contesting for the parliamentary candidate aspirant position ahead of the 2024 general elections against presidential staffer Ibrahim Sowah.
Speaking on the election command center on TV3 on Saturday, December 2, Mussa Dankwah said “The CEO of the NHIS Okoe-Boye will win the primary.”
He says this to make the point that there is fatigue in the New Patriotic Party’s ongoing parliamentary primary for the orphan constituencies.
Prof Mensah noted that the party is experiencing too many internal elections – the Super Delegates Conference, the Delegates Conference, the parliamentary primary in the orphan constituency, and the last parliamentary primary for the other constituencies – within a short time which is leading to fatigue.
“There appears to be a fatigue in the NPP elections…It should be possible for us to have a timetable for the elections of the parties,” he said on the Election Command Centre on TV3 on Saturday, December 2.
Delegates of the NPP are voting today in the orphan constituencies to elect their parliamentary candidates.
Orphan constituencies are areas where the NPP has no sitting MPs. In other words, constituencies whose MPs are from the National Democratic Congress or independent candidates.
