Tema police arrest 16 drug pushers

File pic[/caption] The Tema Regional Police Command on Wednesday, May 31, 2018, in an intelligence-led operation, rounded up 16 suspects at BBC an area within Tema Community 2. Intelligence gathered by the Command indicated that a group of people usually gather at a drinking spot at BBC where they deal in illicit drugs. The Command at 5am dispatched personnel to the spot and 16 suspects all male, were rounded up, Police Public Affairs Unit Tema , DSP Joseph Benefo Darkwah said. Items retrieved included dried leaves suspected to be cannabis, tramadol tablets, scissors, knives among others. He said the suspects would be screened and those found culpable of dealing in illicit drugs would be arraigned. The Regional Commander DCOP Nana Asomah Hinneh briefing the press advised the youth to desist from using illicit drugs but rather get engaged in profitable activities. He said the operation would be sustained indefinitely since the Command has the needed logistics to undertake such operations.
