Techiman DVLA worried over issuance of fake licenses

District Manager of the DVLA at the Techiman Municipality in the Brong Ahafo Region George Afful has urged applicants of driving licenses to desist from engaging middle men. The DVLA manager stated that his office records not less than 20 cases of fake licenses being issued to drivers on the highways. Checks at the Techiman MTTD Commander’s office indicated that some 39 vehicles were impounded with drivers found culpable of not having road worthy and insurance stickers with some of them having fake licenses. George Afful noted that the phenomenon leads to a lot of unqualified drivers plying the highways in Techiman and this could lead to a lot of accident cases in the area. He pleaded with the government to help the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) to bring those issuing the fake licenses to book, urging all applicants to be more vigilant and apply for licenses only at designated DVLA offices.
