The three kidnapped girls[/caption] The Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has invited a pathologist from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital to examine the human remains found behind the residence of the prime suspect in the case of the three kidnapped Takoradi girls. Police will commence immediate forensic examination on the bones found once the pathologist is available, 3news.com has gathered. It is almost a year since the three girls went missing in the Western Region capital of Takoradi. But as part of investigations into the matter, key suspect Samuel Udoetek-Willis led some police personnel to his residence on Friday, August 2 and some human body parts were found in a septic tank behind his house at Kansaworodo.
The discovery of the human remains has stirred controversy as the families of the three kidnapped girls insist they would not cooperate with the police in their quest to conduct a DNA examination to establish whether the parts found were those of their relatives. But they have been advised against such stance. According to the CID, forensic scientists have already been dispatched to Takoradi to take the found samples for the DNA examination. Sources at the CID say the prime suspect in the case led the police to Calabar, Port Harcourt, Onitsha in Anambra State and Rivers State in Nigeria, all in the quest of looking for the three missing girls, all of which did not result in finding them. Whilst in Nigeria, another suspect Chika was arrested but he is yet to be extradited to Ghana. It is on the back of the Nigeria trip by the police that a new twist was explored as investigators decided to look within Ghana, leading to the retrieval of the human parts behind the suspect’s house in Takoradi. A fourth set of human remains was also retrieved from where Samuel Udoetek-Willis was rearrested when he broke jail. [caption id="attachment_131882" align="alignnone" width="544"]

Police have therefore begun work on ascertaining the gender and age of the parts found with the assistance of the pathologist from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
