The Executive Director of the Ghana Centre for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana), Professor H Kwasi Prempah, has welcomed the move by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) to conduct a lifestyle audit targeting celebrities and other individuals in Ghana.

He says the idea is good however, he asked EOCO to extend this exercise to its staff and other political public officeholders.

“Good, but focus on public officeholders like yourselves and your political principals and patrons,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

The move by EOCO followed the recent guilty plea by Ghanaian social media influencer and musician Mona Montrage, also known as Hajia4reall, in a $2 million romance scam.

The head of Administration and Investigations at EOCO, Edward Cudjoe said “We are leading the charge by ourselves, making certain proposals for the amendment of the law to align with international standards.”
