The Ebola case said to have been recorded in Tamale is not real.

The announcement made by the Northern Regional Disease Control Officer, Fuseini Mahama, was part of “a simulation exercise”.

But the Director General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye told journalists in Accra on Wednesday June 22 after some media houses reported that Ebola has been recorded in the country that it was a simulation exercise to test whether Ghana’s systems are ready in the event of an outbreak.

“That was an exercise that was being carried out that should there be an Ebola outbreak will the system be ready,” he said.
