Six persons died instantly on Thursday night when a 207 Benz Sprinter bus with registration number GE 5526-15 collided with a Takoradi-bound VVIP bus at Gomoa Buduatta in the Central Region.
Sixteen other persons sustained various degrees of injury and are receiving medical treatment.
Ten of the injured were sent to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital, TV3 has learnt, while the rest were admitted at the Winneba Government Hospital.
Eye witnesses say the accident was caused by a heavy downpour, which plunged the Benz bus into a puddle, destabilising the driver’s grip on the steering wheel.
