The Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of Sekondi-Takoradi is dead, 3news.com has gathered.
Anthony Kobina Kurentsir Sam died after a short illness, which is suspected to be Covid-19.
This was confirmed to 3news.com on Friday, June 12 by a close relation.
He was brought to Accra for treatment of his ailment but could not survive.
A few weeks ago his driver was confirmed positive of coronavirus in the flare-up of cases in the Western Region.
So far, the Region is behind the Greater Accra and Ashanti regions in terms of the number of cases.
He became the Chief Executive of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) on March 24, 2017.
