Presidential staffer, Sam George, and the Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon, Nii Amasah Namoale, have been suspended from the National Democratic Congress for acts the party considers to be contemptuous.

Mr George, who was elected as the party’s parliamentary candidate for the Ningo-Prampram on November 22, according to Greater Accra executives, accused them of fraud. Mr Namoale on the other hand is said to have called the executives “fraudsters and pickpockets”

Their suspension takes effect from December 1 until a disciplinary committee hearing into the allegations against the two party members.

“On the 21 November 2015, you contravened article 41(3A) and 40 (8A,B,C) when you instigated people against the regional executives monitoring team and granted interview to the media accusing the regional executives of perpetuating fraud to the benefit of your contender. The disciplinary committee will contact you soon,” his suspension letter dated December 1 stated.

Mr Namoale’s suspension letter also dated  December 1 stated: “On the 21 November 2015, you contravened article 40 [8C] when you granted interview to the media accusing the regional executives of perpetuating fraud to the benefit of your contender and calling some of the executives as fraudsters and pick pockets.

“The regional party and its executives find this act as affront to democracy and an attempt to drag the party’s image into disrepute. These anti party conduct or activities has embarrassed the party and has brought the party into hatred, ridicule and contempt, hence must not go unpunished order to protect the sanctity of article 40[8B] and 41[3A] of the party’s constitution,” it added.
