The newly instituted Hajj Board led by the chairman, Sheikh IC Quaye, has organized a Qur’anic recitation for a successful Hajj pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia this year.

This is to commit to the Board’s pledge to give Ghanaian Muslims a successful Hajj after it was inaugurated last Thursday.

The event was held at the Hajj Village in Accra.

There have been a lot of issues regarding Hajj pilgrimage among Ghanaian Muslims in recent times but last year’s holy exercise encountered relatively less difficulties.

The newly instituted Hajj Board expressed commitment to improve upon previous Hajj operations; hence commencing with Qur’anic recitation for Allah to provide a successful tenure.

Board chairman Shiekh IC Quaye thanked Allah for last year’s Hajj and prayed to Allah to grant the Board the strength and courage to carry out its mandate.

He used the opportunity and called on Ghanaians to pray for the Board and the President as well as all stakeholders in the Hajj operations.

The Communications Director of Hajj Board, Alhaji Alhassan Gomda, told TV3 that all is set for this year’s Hajj and the Board is calling on Ghanaians especially Muslims to support members with prayers and ideas that will ensure a successful exercise.

He said the Board is not partisan and will work in the interest of all Muslims especially prospective pilgrims.

Among the recitors were Sheikh  Amin Bonsu, Shiekh Nkrumah, officials from the Office of the Chief Imam, United Zongo for Bawumia, Nasara and Muslim communities.
