The Youth Organizers of the People’s National Convention (PNC) and Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP) have officially written to the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) to request information on the biometric voter registration (BVR) kits to be used for the upcoming limited registration.

This comes after the EC confirmed the theft of some BVR devices from its headquarters.

The two – Jude Balma and Mark Ewusi Arkoh – demanded the information as convenors of Election Watch Ghana.

They want the serial numbers of all the BVR kits to be used for the upcoming limited registration exercise.

They also want the number of corresponding registration centers.

They also want all registration printout to have the serial numbers printed on them for authentication.

“This request is necessitated by our commitment to ensuring that Ghana’s electoral processes conform to best and widely accepted practices.”
