The National Democratic Congress (NDC) members on the Appointment Committee of Parliament on Friday June 11 stayed away from the vetting process of Member of Parliament for Techiman South, Martin Agyei Mensah Korsah who has been nominated as Deputy Minister designate for Local Government.

The Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu accused Mr Mr. Korsah intimidating voters during last year’s elections in Techiman South from voting for their candidate Christopher Beyere Baasongti.

They believe Mr Baasongti won the elections.

“We hold a strong view that through the use and misuse of state security apparatus and state security agencies, he [Mensah Korsah] procured the seat through violence which resulted in the loss of life.

“There is no investigation, there is no visit by the Minister for Defence or Interior to commiserate, sympathise and console with the family nor even the contemplation of compensation to the family for those valuable lives lost just for him to emerge as a Member of Parliament,” Mr Iddrisu said.
