Embattled Chief Executive for Sekondi-Takoradi Abdul-Mumin Issah is of the firm conviction that “in the fullness of time, the real truth surrounding that unfortunate incident will prevail”.

The MCE was arrested on Thursday, February 3 for dangerous driving and threats against a police officer.

He was arraigned on three charges the following day by the police at the Takoradi Circuit Court.

His Honour Michael Ampadu granted him bail at GH¢100,000 with three sureties, adjourning the case till Thursday, March 17.

The appointing authority, within few minutes after the court appearance, suspended him.

Reacting to the development in a press statement on Saturday, Mr Issah expressed gratitude to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Minister of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development Daniel Botwe, Western Region Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah “for their various advice and support during the last two-days”.

In also thanking his fellow MMDCEs, assembly members, the Solicitor and the entire staff of the Sekondi-Takoradi Municipal Assembly (STMA), the suspended MCE assured the good people of the metropolis “of my highest cooperation with the police administration for successful prosecution and determination of the case”.

“I am convinced that in the fullness of time, the real truth surrounding that unfortunate incident will prevail.”
