Prove me wrong with an independent forensic audit – Mahama dares govt on Covid spending

Former President John Dramani Mahama has dared the government to challenge his claim of misappropriation of Covid-19 funds by allowing an independent forensic audit into how Covid-19 funds were used.

Mr Mahama had earlier accused the government of diverting funds during a lecture at the Harvard Business School “…to make matters worse a pandemic windfall in excess of Ghs33bn which could’ve cushioned the economy remain unaudited and it is believed to have been used largely in a quest to win election 2020 at all cost” he told participants.

Mr Mahama who was the main speaker at the 4th summit of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Professionals Forum in Kumasi stated he stands by his claim and challenged the government to prove him wrong with a forensic audit.

“The only way you can prove me wrong and say that that money was not used for election 2020 is to allow an independent forensic audit into how the money was used,” he said.

The NDC Professionals Forum (NDC-PROFORUM) is an incorporated center left Professionals and Civil Society Organisation that serves as a vehicle for mobilising various categories of top notch professionals in Ghana and in the Diaspora to support the National Democratic Congress. The NDC Proforum was incorporated as a company limited by guarantee on March 6th, 2018.

The president of the NDC Professionals Forum, Ambassador Sam Pee Yalley urged former President John Dramani Mahama to contest and lead the NDC into the 2024 elections because he stand as the most preferred candidate.

“We are professionals, we don’t believe in, we hearsay, we have data to support that anytime the NDC decides to hold the flagbearer race, your Excellency John Mahama will win hands down, it is on this note that I stand in front of you as the President of NDC-PROFORUM to ask you, if you have any doubt not to contest, please here and now change that doubt. We urge you to contest” he emphasised.

General secretary of the NDC Johnson Asiedu Nketiah officially announced the induction of the NDC-PROFORUM as an affiliate of the NDC.

Special citations were also presented to former President John Dramani Mahama and some executives of the opposition NDC.
