The Police told Onua FM Tuesday that all the necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure that demonstration, dubbed “Baamu Yadda”, takes place peacefully.
Organised by the pressure groups Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA), Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) and Movement for Change, the vice presidential candidate of the NPP, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is expected to lead the thousands of protestors in the Kumasi metropolis.
The protestors want the EC carry out a validation of the voters’ register to ensure that the electoral roll thoroughly cleaned to guarantee a fair and peaceful election on November 7. They are also demanding from the EC, the contractual relationship between it and Superlock Technologies Limited.
The demonstrators are expected to converge at State Boys Primary located by the Suame Roundabout on the Abrepo Junction Highway from 6.00am.
Ashanti Regional Police Public Affairs Director, ASP Mahmmed Tanko told Onua FM’s Yen Sempa that they expect the demonstration to be peaceful as agreed upon by the leaders with the Police.
