PNC mourns ET Mensah, Theresa Kufuor

The opposition People’s National Convention (PNC) has extended condolences to the families of former First Lady Theresa Kufuor and former Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram Constituency Enoch Teye Mensah.

“The duo’s contribution to Ghana’s development and in their respective capacities would forever be cherished,” the PNC said in a statement dated Tuesday, October 3.

Both Mrs Kufuor and ET Mensah died on Sunday, October 1.

They had been separately receiving treatments.

The Council of State member and former National Democratic Congress (NDC) official died in a South African hospital.

“Honourable E. T. Mensah’s contribution to the Ghana Sports is remarkable,” PNC’s statement signed by General Secretary Janet Asana Nabla said.

On the wife of President John Agyekum Kufuor, the opposition party wrote: “Mrs Theresah Kuffour as professional nurse and a first lady of the republic would be remembered for her role in improving mother and child care through her Mother and Child Community Foundation (MCCDF).”

The PNC extended sincere condolences to “His Excellency Mr. John Agyekum Kuffour, the
children and the entire family for their loss”

“The party extend same to the family of Hon. E. T. Mensah.

“It is the PNC’s prayer that their memories bring comfort in this difficult time.”

Funeral arrangements are being made by the respective families.
