Parliamentary Candidate hopeful for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Abuakwa North Constituency Palgrave Boakye-Danquah has pledged support for Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming presidential primaries.

He also made his intentions clear to lead the party in the Constituency in the 2024 elections.

Dr Boakye-Danquah made this known on the sidelines of the campaign visit to the Constituency by Dr Bawumia over the weekend.

“For me, as the incoming Candidate for the New Patriotic Party for Abuakwa North, I have pledged my support for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, I have pledged support for the young people of this constituency,” he told journalists.

The Government Spokesperson on Governance and Security outlined some of the takeways from the meeting with Dr Bawumia.

“He shared three policies that he wants to bring: The first is to make sure that every constituency will have 10 appointments. The second is to make sure that he sets up God-father, God-mother for each constituency and also he says about a welfare system with a database so that everyone can be able to put their challenges and issues there,” he said.

Dr Boakye-Danquah described Dr Bawumia’s third policy as one of the “most innovative and out-of-the-box” policies that the NPP will benefit from if implemented.

He said the Vice President is the right candidate to lead the ruling party into the 2024 elections because “he has sacrificed enough, he has dedicated his life, he is the person that the grassroots know, he is the person that the delegates know and I have no doubt in my mind that if the delegates make a decision on the 26th of August, 2023 to vote him as the first five and also make a decision on the 4th of November to vote him as the flagbearer, the New Patriotic Party will be able to break the 8”.

He also made known his intentions to build a factory in the constituency under the One District-One Factory Policy, underscoring his borehole initiative, which has seen two already constructed in Old Tafo-Fofiase and Anyinasin.

On the upcoming presidential primaries of the NPP, Dr Boakye-Danquah urged all aspirants to ensure peaceful, free and fair polls.

“We talk to all our followers to make the right decision to vote the right person to lead.”

He urged President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Ado to remain “forthright to ensure that he fulfils his legacy for this country”.
