The Minority in Parliament has welcomed the decision by an Accra High Court to dismiss an application filed by the police to stop Tuesday’s demonstration dubbed #OccupyBoGDemo.

The Court on Friday, September 29 held as ineffective the processes of service on the respondents by the police.

Speaking in an interview with Media General‘s Komla Klutse, Minority Chief Whip Kwame Governs Agbodza expressed readiness of the caucus and its allied partners including Arise Ghana to stage the demonstration on Tuesday.

He said the police nearly acted in bad faith “attempting to resurrect an issue which doesn’t exist”.

“So, I am happy the court threw their case away today.”

He extended an arm of welcome to all who are disenchanted by the “maladministration” under the Akufo-Addo-led government to join Tuesday’s demonstration.

He specially invited members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and, in particular, former Trade Minister Alan Kwadwo John Kyerematen to join the demonstration.

“It is such an open-ended demonstration that anybody including members of the New Patriotic Party and even the new party that Alan [Kyerematen] has formed are welcomed to join us to demonstrate against this obnoxious government to tell them that Ghana has moved on and we are looking for a better governance.”
