There were rumours last year that Obour was gearing up to become a lawmaker in Ghana. “I was not very clear in my mind then as I had other competing considerations,” he stated. “After very extensive consultations with my maker (God), immediate family, friends and loved ones, the call on me to avail myself to service in overwhelming.” Asante Akyem South Constituency is currently held by the NPP with Kwaku Asante-Boateng as the sitting MP. He is yet to announce his future with many of the view that he will seek re-election. The primaries are scheduled to be held on April 25, 2020. Nominations were opened on Monday, January 20.
