Member of Parliament of Effia Constituency in the Western Region Joseph Cudjoe stresses on how important it is for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to elect a standard bearer whose popularity transcends the “corridors of our party”.

“It is a simple task of electing a candidate that we don’t need to struggle to market.”

Like an electoral curse, political parties in Ghana normally do not stay in government beyond two terms and the New Patriotic Party intends to break the eight.

Joseph Cudjoe, like many of his colleague MPs and Ministers of State, who have made a public declaration of support for Dr. Bawumia, believes the “the flagbearer we elect should be one with a strong base of support that can amass votes from every corner of the country to our advantage”.

“Dr. Bawumia offers us such triumph card.

In an interview with Connect FM, Joseph Cudjoe further argues that the party should not look at just electing a one -time representation but one whose attributes can guarantee the party’s desire to break the eight.

“He has demonstrated beyond reasonable doubt that he will be that leader Ghana will need as it seeks to join the dominant coalition in not just Africa but the entire world.”

The countdown to NPP’s November 4 election to elect a flagbearer for the 2024 Presidential Elections is on and Joseph Cudjoe encourages delegates that “if you think about the wellbeing of not just the NPP but Ghana, you should think about giving your vote to Dr. Bawumia”.

“It is possible, we will break the eight and assuredly that will be possible with Dr. Bawumia.”
