Flagbearer is hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto has dismissed surveys that are tipping his competitors in the upcoming internal elections of the NPP ahead of him to win the race.
He indicated that the polls are sponsored therefore they should be disregarded.
Addressing a group of his supporters who picked the nominations form for him to contest in the elections, on Monday, May 29, he said “I have never sponsored any poll. Find out who is sponsoring those polls.
“If I sponsor a poll I bet you, they will say that I am first but I won’t, it doesn’t serve any purpose.
“We know what we are doing on the ground so all the polls in the world can say whatever they want but we are talking about the 900 people who will be voting in the super delegates and the 210,000 delegates who will be voting on the 4th of November, that is what matters. So I don’t know the bases.”
It is recalled that a delegates-based survey conducted by Outcomes International Ghana and Centre for Sustainable African Development Initiatives (C-SADI) UK projected Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to win the flagbearer elections of the NPP ahead of the 2024 general elections.
