The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on the Chief Executive of the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly, Gilbert Kennedy Asmah, to move into his official bungalow at Government Hill in the Western North Region. According to the constituency branch of the opposition party, it is unfortunate for the MCE to choose to stay in his private house “where we are not sure of his security”. They claim the bungalow, which has been used by past MCEs, was renovated at the a cost of GH¢83,530.73 and cannot be left unused. “As a responsible political party, we are concerned about the security of the MCE, who is the head of MUSEC in the Municipality. “More so, we are concerned about the tax payers money. Our scarce resources must be used judiciously,” a statement issued by the party on Wednesday, August 28 said. “We are by this release calling on the Honourable MCE to, as a matter of urgency, relocate to the official bungalow.” Mr Asmah is said to have abandoned the bungalow since his assumption of office. The NDC claims he has no excuse “whatsoever for not making use of the facility”. Source: 3news.com|Ghana]]>
