Government Spokesperson on Governance and Security, Palgrave Frimpong Boakye-Danquah has talked up the contributions of the 2024 flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, to the “successes” of this government.

He said a lot of the achievements chalked under the Akufo-Addo administration can be attributed to Dr Bawumia.

Mr Boakye-Danquah was speaking on TV3‘s New Day on Friday, November 3 as the NPP prepared to go to conference.

The Abuakwa North Parliamentary Candidate hopeful said Dr Bawumia complemented the efforts of a hardworking president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in steering the country to stability irrespective of the global pandemic that hit in 2020.

“Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is the Vice President to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo,” he began.

“President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is not a weak politician. He is a very tough politician. He is not a sleeping president. He is a president that speaks to the very details that are needed,” he showered praises on the country’s leader.

He noted that there was no unique identification system in 2017 when the NPP took office.

“When we came to office in 2016 (actually 2017) in this country, there was not a unique identifiable number for every single citizen.

“People travel across the length and breadth of this country, people from Canada come into Ghana with the Ghana Card.”

Mr Boakye-Danquah also noted the mobile money interoperability implemented under this government.

After the presidential primaries, the NPP is set to turn attention to constituencies with its members of Parliament (MPs).

Mr Boakye-Danquah is lacing his boots to contest the primaries in Abuakwa North Constituency in the Eastern Region.

The primaries are scheduled to be held in February, 2024.
