Kumawu District Assembly confirms the president’s nominee

The Kumawu District Assembly has finally confirmed the president’s nominee Samuel Addai Agyekum.

He was earlier rejected twice by the assmebly members after failing to obtain the required votes.

Even after the Assembly members failed to confirm him in the two sitautions, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo again nominated him and on the third time he got the nod after all Assembly members present at the time voting, voted yes.

Akoma fm is learning some of the Assembly Members and some personnel from the media including Member of Parliament for Kumawu, Philip Basoa were not allowed entry into the voting auditorium.

There was heavy police presence at the voting center at Bomeng to ensure peace and order.

So far there are three Assemblies in the Ashanti region who are yet to confirm their DCE nominee.

The Ahafo Ano North district with it’s capital as Tepa rejected the president’s nominee while Juaben and Akrofuom suffered same.
